Nature and Purpose of the Leadership Assembly

1.       Evaluate progress of MCA since 1999 Leadership Assembly

2.       Discern new leadership and the gifts needed to lead the MCA into the future

3.       Articulate a sense of mission in the context of  “the providence of daily life”

Note:            The organizational issues addressed at the 1999 Leadership Assembly included:

                        + To improve communication

+ To promote more shared leadership at the regional level

+ To allow for regional flexibility in whatever model is used

+ To provide a structure that would form leaders

+ To recognize that the MCA is an international organization

Theme of the 2003 Leadership Assembly

A quotation from the writings of Father Judge provides the theme for our next gathering:

“We will find the field of sanctity in the circumstances of our every day providence.”

Fr. Thomas Augustine Judge, C.M.

Holy Ghost Magazine, Nov. 1928

Father Judge called the Missionary Cenacle Apostolate to “be good, do good and be a power for good” within the providence of our daily lives.  Both the world and the Church have changed dramatically since the founding of the MCA in 1909.  We propose that together we explore the richness of that calling in our current context, and define more clearly our particular vocation of being missionary in the providence of our daily lives in the 21st century.
