Goals Established at the MCA Leadership Meeting in Puerto Rico (2000)

Meeting of MCA General Council

(General and Asst. General Custodians, International Spiritual Guide and Regional Custodians)

Assistant Regional Custodians and Regional Spiritual Guides

In response to the question, “What would you want the MCA to be like in the year 2003?”, the shared vision is reflected as follows:

  1. GROWTH:  In the year 2003, the MCA would be:
    1. Independent and interdependent
    2. Reaching out and inviting other cultures, recognizing our internationality
    3. The MCA will be developing in such a way as to foster new models, i.e., Cenacles for older members; Cenacles of MCF living together; and Cenacles of MCF in mission together.

  1. FORMATION:  In the year 2003, formation will include:
    1. Formation into the Family
    2. Theology of Mission will have been articulated
    3. Teams of formation to go from Region to Region will have been created
    4. MCA would have formed Cenacles in other areas even if other Branches are no present there
    5. Good leadership and Spiritual Guide formation, including formation of lay Spiritual Guides.
    6. Approved basic model and materials will exist on how to create new Cenacles
    7. There will be a special emphasis on the recruitment of youth

  1. TIME, TALENT, TREASURE:  utilization by the year 2003:

Pool of known talents will exist that defines who has what gifts throughout the MCA and the MCF, and are to be integrated into the mission as needed.

  1. COLLABORATION by the year 2003 will include:
    1. More deliberate collaboration between MCF branches
    2. More collaboration within the MCA, taking into consideration the culture, language, region
    3. Integration of a collaborative system that will connect the gifts and talents for new models of Cenacles to develop

  1. COMMUNICATION so that no Cenacle is isolated by the year 2003:
    1. We will be making use of modern technology to connect/meet
    2. Each Region will have a contact person to receive information through existing technology and pass it along

  1. SPIRITUALITY will be:
    1. Connected to formation, gifts, Cenacles and MCF
    2. Intentional in its expression and communication to others
    3. Spirituality connected with the MCF
    4. More ST and MSBT dedicated to MCA formation

Visions of General and Asst. General Custodians included for Administration for 2003:  Canonical status in place, and Revision of the Rule of Life and Constitution completed; election process for General Custodian and Assistant General Custodian in place; more authority at the regional level; structures developed at the regional level that will support leadership development.
