Missionary Cenacle Family Council

Newsletter - January, 2004

The Missionary Family Council met at the Mother Boniface Spirituality Center, Philadelphia, PA on January 23 and 24th.  The Family Council reflected on and shared their insights concerning the statement on Missionary Cenacle Spirituality.

The Cenacle does have a unique and blessed spirituality.  We are called to be apostles.  The entire Missionary Cenacle Family is called to mission in the providence of our everyday lives.  We need to explore our complementary relationship as Cenacle, and the ways we can support one another in mission.  There is a challenge to deepen our Cenacle spirituality by responding to our preference for the poor and abandoned.

We need to find ways to promote our spirituality, first to all of our members and then to the larger Church. With this in mind we have developed two models for reflection and the process of council on our spirituality. The first model A statement of the Spirituality of the Missionary Cenacle Family is attached to this mailing. We ask all members to use it both for personal reflection and for the process of council in your Cenacle. A second model, The Relationship between our Spirituality and the Poor, will be distributed in the fall. Your feedback is requested.

Remote preparations are being made for Jubilee 2009 and the Council surfaced some initial ideas about  ways to involve the Cenacle Family in this preparation.

The Formation Video/DVD is nearing the production stage.  Much gratitude and prayers of thanksgiving to all involved in this effort!  More news about this will come soon.

Our next meeting will be April 16, 17 and 18, 2004 at the Mother Boniface Spirituality Center.
