Missionary Cenacle Family Council Newsletter:  November 2005   The Missionary Cenacle Family Council met September 9-11, 2005 at Mother Boniface Spirituality Center, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  As part of our ongoing reflection leading up to the celebration of the Centennial celebration in 2009, we engaged in looking at the rituals, symbols, customs and traditions of the Missionary Cenacle Family.  Our reflection led us to look at the essential elements of our story.  We agree that at some level an essential and unique element is the role of the laity in the Missionary Cenacle Family, and will explore this further in future meetings.    The MCA, MSBT and ST members of the Council welcomed the new BTMI representatives: Rosa Tirado, General Custodian, Bonnie Hackett and Terry Lafferty.  The first evening of our meeting included an orientation on the history of the Missionary Cenacle Family Council and an update on recent activities.   The Council received and approved reports from the standing and ad hoc committees, and from each of the General Custodians.  We also reviewed the responses that had been received to the reflection on the relationship between our spirituality and the poor.    The next meeting of the MCFC is January 13-15, 2006 in Philadelphia.     Four General Custodians Respond to Hurricane Katrina   Since the Missionary Cenacle Family Council met shortly after Hurricane Katrina had devastated the Gulf Coast of the United States, the General Custodians of each branch announced the establishment of the Missionary Cenacle Family Hurricane Fund to assist the ST missions in Mississippi, which were affected by the storm.   The ST fundraising office is processing the donations, and the treasurer’s office is disseminating the funds.  Donations may be sent to:                           MCF Hurricane Fund                         c/o Trinity Missions                         P.O.
