PRAYER IN SPRINGTIME

ALL: MY BELOVED GOD, VEST ME IN PRAYERFULNESS AS I JOIN WITH ALL THE EARTH AT THIS SPRINGTIME TO LIFT UP MY HEART TO YOU. WITH SPLENDOR THE SUN FLOODS THIS PLANET WITH LIGHT AND ENERGY. MAY YOUR PRESENCE FILL MY HEART WITH LIGHT ETERNAL AS I REJOICE WITH ALL HERE BEFORE YOUR ALTAR.

SEE US LORD AROUND YOUR ALTAR

See us, Lord, about Your altar, though so many we are one;

Many souls by love united in the heart of Christ, Your Son.

Hear our prayers, 0 loving Father, hear in them Your Son Our Lord;

Hear Him speak our love and worship as we sing with one accord.

Hear us yet: so much is needed in our frail disordered life;

Stay with us and tend our weakness, 'til the day of no more strife.

Members of His Mystic Body, Now we know our prayer is heard,

Heard by You because Your children have received the eternal Word.

1. God of all seasons, with artistic splendor You have given us an overture to the resurrection of Your Son in the resurrection of spring from the cold tomb. of winter.

2. With joy I greet the coming of flowers and return of birds, as I celebrate the feast of the resurrection of Christ.

1. Remove from my heart any division of discrimination that would keep me frozen in sepa-

ration from others.

2. May this time of prayer fill me with the whisper of Your presence and let me feel the touch of Your love upon my heart.

ALL: MAKE US ONE WITH ALL CREATION TO SING THE SONG OF SPRINGTIME. SEND YOUR SPIRIT TO US TO REMOVE ANY CHILL OF EMPTINESS AND REVIVE OUR HEARTS WITH A RELISH TO SERVE OTHERS AND A LONGING FOR PRAYER.

1. 0 Divine Maker of hearts, my spirit hungers for Your love, grant me a taste of Your joy and the blessing of Your peace,

2. My Lord, help me to approach the tasks of each day with its challenges. Favor me with the use of time to recognize all as countless ways to explore the promise each day holds - a gift from You.

1. As the hours shorten in each day let them express my longing to expand the boundaries of my heart so that they encompass more than i did yesterday and a joyous expectation of tomorrow and all the days to come.

2. Quiet my restless heart, calm my roving, runaway mind as now together with all here offer You this song a prayer of stillness.

ALL: PRAYING WITH CHRIST, WE ALSO PRAY FOR AND WITH OTHERS. AS WITH JESUS, OUR THOUGHTS AND CARES EMBRACE ALL, AS WE TOO SEEK SALVATION, COMFORT AND ALL THAT IS GOOD FOR OUR NEIGHBORS OUR SICK SISTERS, OUR FAMILY FOR THEIR SPIRITUAL AND TEMPORAL WELFARE, FOR ALL THOSE WHO HAVE REQUESTED PRAYERS, AND OUR DECEASED IN OUR COMMUNITY, FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

(P A U S E )

1. May the blessing of Your presence among us heal the wounds of war, bind up all bitterness and mend broken hearts and failed friendships.

2. From this -house of prayer may rivers of grace flow to all those oppressed or living in fear, those without hope or devoid of dreams.

1. I pray this night for those lonely in their homes, for those yoked with poverty, for the unemployed and with jobs at risk. We lift up in a special way those in the midst of a divorce or separation and all those who face this night in great need.

 I offer my prayers mindful of the needs and encouragement of all who struggle for peace and justice, of those who refuse toieturn violence for violence and for all who labor to lift the burdens of those who suffer in mind and body.

ALL: WE THANK YOU, DIVINE WISDOM, THAT THE WORLD OF YOUR CREATION IS NEVER DRAB, BUT ONE OF ENDLESS VARIETY, COLOR, AND FORM. WE THANK YOU FOR ALL THE BEAUTY THAT SURROUNDS US, FOR THE WONDER OF THE GALAXY, COMETS AND THE VASTNESS OF THE UNIVERSE.

1. I marvel that as I pass along my pilgrim path each day, amid the common and ordinary,

I have been filled with the extra-ordinary wonders which are woven in all creation.

2. In trust as well as gratitude, I ask that my senses be opened ever wider to the magnificent mystery of Your presence in all that You have created.

1. I give you thanks for the gift of this day and I sincerely beg Your pardon for all who may have caused delay or disturbance, pain or injury on anyone.

2. Grant me 0 Gracious One, Your gift of pardon.Sometimes I keep it buried beneath my discomfort or pain. I know that by failing to forgive I spread the kingdom of darkness.

ALL: -REMIND US ALL OF ALL THE TIMES YOU HAVE FORGIVEN US - WITHOUT EVEN WAITING FOR SORROW, YOU WERE THERE TO LIFT US WHEN WE SLIPPED AND SINNED. REMIND US TOO OF YOUR ENDLESS ABSOLUTION, NOT EVEN REQUIRED ON OUR PART, SO BRO AD IS THE BOUNTY OF YOUR W\7E.HELP US TO BE CHANNELS OF YOUR GIFT OF PARDON THAT AS WE HAVE BEEN HEALED THAT  PASSES THROUGH US TO OTHERS.

1. As the day fades into evening, I offer You the work of this day. Many things have taken a tol.1 on my mind and body but I am not so weary that Ican forget the good things You have sent. May I never take such treasures for granted.

2. Gently refresh me now with your evergreen pardon for my failure to drink deeply of Your love, hidden beneath every moment of each day.For green is Your color, 0 God, the green of new life .

1. Green up my heart with hope in Your perpetual promise of new life. Send forth from my soul new shoots, fresh buds, eager to grow in Your divine image.

2. Awaken seeds of holiness buried deep within me. Awaken the power that rests within me, call it forth as You do the wind to stir it deep within me.

ALL: 0 GOD OF ENDLESS AND COMPASSION AS WE COME TO THE CONCLUSION OF THIS TIME OF PRAYER AND WORSHIP, OPEN WIDE THE WINDOWS OF OUR HEARTS SO THAT YOUR PRESENCE MAY POUR OUT IN ALL DIRECTIONS. COVER OUR HEADS WITH THE MANTLE OF FIRE AND LIGHT WHICH SHOWS THE PRESENCE OF YOUR HOLY SPIRIT THAT ROBED IN THE SPLENDOR OF YOUR SPIRIT, OUR PRAYER MAY GIVE PEACE TO ALL THE WORLD. AMEN.

NOW THAN WE ALL OUR GOD

Now thank we all our God with heart and hands and voices,

Who wondrous things has done, in whom His world rejoites;

Who from our mother's arms has blessed us on our way

With countless gifts of love, and still is ours today.

0 may this gracious God through all our life be near us,

With ever joyful hearts, and blessed peace to cheer us;

Preserve us in His grace, and guide us in distress,

And free us from all sin, 'til heaven we possess.
